Weddings express commitment, faithfulness, and love, and thus provide a reflection of God’s love for us. Indeed, Jesus performed his first miracle at a wedding by turning water into wine! (See the Gospel of St John 2:1-11.) At St Paul’s, we are pleased to help you take this extraordinary step into the sacrament of Holy Matrimony.
We believe that a wedding is not just a festive day (although it is certainly that), but it is also a public declaration of love that is affirmed by the community and blessed by the Church. For this reason, whether a couple have already been living together for years or are living apart, a wedding is a significant event that helps nurture the depth, reality, and true beauty of sacrificial love, for a wedding requires the couple to declare publicly commitments to one another, and the guests publicly affirm their support for these promises.
All people who live within the parish of St Paul’s and all people who have a connection to St Paul’s are welcome to be married in the church. The parish clergy are delighted to coordinate wedding arrangements at St Paul’s. The parish clergy also arrange for couples to engage in marital preparation. Likewise, the clergy are happy to publish Banns of Marriage for people who live in the parish but plan to be married elsewhere. For enquires, please speak with one of the clergy after Sunday Mass, or contact the church at 020 8341 3306, or email the church at firstname.lastname@example.org.
